If you would like to help at the regional level, send an email to Regional Director with the position in the subject line.
If you're a patroller in the Northwest Region, you can help support the activities, trainings and operations taking place within the region.
Although you may have only seen what goes on within your local patrol, most of the training you receive is supported by volunteers that work at the region and division level. Regional volunteers are broken down into two main categories “support staff” and “advisors”.
The support staff handles the operations of the region and includes the following positions; Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, and Webmaster. Also under the support staff banner is “Special Projects”, as well as the individual coordinating the regional banquet and when our turn comes to host it, the division banquet.
Advisory roles at the region level are similar to that at your local patrol, although at the regional level you are responsible for ensuring that all the training within the region is similar, and held to the same standard. Skill based advisors also coordinate regional trainings and follow up with patrol advisors to ensure training paperwork is accurate, complete, and that classes are closed so participating patrollers receive class credit.
The regional Awards Advisor meets with the local patrol Awards Advisors, to select the regional award winners and is also responsible for submitting our regional winners up to the Pacific Northwest Division for consideration of a Divisional level award. A successful Awards Advisor is someone that help local Awards Advisors tell a great fact based story about a patroller and/or an incident that has the potential to go all the way to the national awards committee for consideration of a national award.
